Air Boat Ride at Everglades National Park

On Saturday, Christopher's uncle Jeff was in town from Washington. He is so great and sweet my girls - they really really loved him. He has been doing some work in Orlando for awhile but has yet to see any alligators! How is that possible? They are all over down here! Chris promised him some alligator spottings and they went on an air boat tour of the Everglades (the swamp about a hundred yards from my house). Kalle wasn't feeling super great - lucky for me, I've been a few times - so we stayed home. Chris, Jeff and Jada went and took some fun photos.
Here's their first of many gator sightings...This one is coming right at their boat! Ahh! A little too close for comfort!The air boat is barely inches on top of the water and the alligators swim around right next to you! Its crazy!
The Everglades are full of these huge, gorgeous lily pads floating all over. The water is fresh and home to tons of exotic animals like this beautiful bird who landed on their boat for a snack :-)There are peacocks and peahens walking all around this park - Jada found the one Albino peahen! Its good luck!I love Florida. The weather has just gotten ridiculously gorgeous. After 5 years I still can't get over the unique wildlife and incredible lush greenery. And nothing beats the wide, blue, sunshine-filled Florida sky :-)
